Regional Governor of Kotayk Kovalenko Shahgeldyan promises fair and transparent elections of Mayor in Hrazdan. In the talk with the reporter of Slaq.am, the Regional Governor said that during the elections he’ll support the current Mayor Aram Danielyan.

- Mr. Danielyan is the RPA member. I work with him for already 10 years. I am the head of the RPA Regional Council and, of course, I should support him.

- One of the newspapers today wrote that Serzh Sargsyan had told You that You should provide the current Mayor’s victory, otherwise, You’ll lose Your position. How will You comment on these rumors?

- I don’t answer and comment on such absurd things, but I should say that the President didn’t tell me such a thing.

- According to the same newspaper, RPA isn’t so encouraged with Your victory, because You were Hovik Abrahamyan's dear Regional Governor. Was there any inner split between You and the RPA?

- But what should have taken place? We have only one candidate, who is the RPA member and all we'll support him. What does it mean they are not encouraged? We'll celebrate victory on February 13.

I am a respected Regional Governor. I respect Hovik Abrahamyan. If the President doesn't trust me, I'll immediately leave my position.

- Do You have enough political resource to provide Hrazdan Mayor fair and transparent elections.

- Yes, we have rather a large number of voters, who accept the Mayor and support him. I promised that the Mayor's elections will be fair and transparent in accordance with the RA Electoral Code.
