Armenian singer Meri Voskanyan has brought a charge against famous Russian painter Nikas Safronov accusing him of raping her. Safronov tried to avoid slander and misinformation demanding 10 million rubles from Voskanyan.

During an interview at one of the TV channels of Rostov, Voskanyan stated that visiting Rostov, the painter got acquainted with her and offered her to paint her portrait. He raped her in the hotel, where he had invited the singer for painting. The trial will take place on March 5.
