The Republic of Armenia and the State of Kansas entertain strategic relationship, whose 15th anniversary will be marked in 2018

Today we were delighted to host the delegation of the Kansas National Guard, headed by Major General Lee Tafanelli, the Adjutant General and the Brigadier General Anthony Mohatt, the Commander of the Kansas Army National Guard. The Republic of Armenia and the State of Kansas entertain strategic relationship, whose 15th anniversary will be marked in 2018. Through this ever growing partnership, Armenia has benefited from a number of joint projects covering several areas, such as defense, emergency management and preparedness, healthcare, etc.

One of the most recent examples of this cooperation includes the creation of the “Phoenix Platoon” (Փյունիկ Վաշտ), which seeks to train the non-commissioned military personnel serving on contractual basis in Armenia’s Armed Forces. As a token of friendship, MG Tafanelli presented Ambassador Hovhannissian with a wonderful memento symbolizing the strategic partnership between Armenia and the State of Kansas.
